Lately I've wasted time on anime and video game related videos out of boredom.
Also I feel discouraged to pray because I don't pray in tongues and I feel I don't know how to pray besides mentioning people's names, I used to pray for actors in the video game or anime industry, but felt discouraged.
I still listen to the bible everday though, just pray very little in private time, but try to ask people if they need prayer.

Well I would recommend praying for what you want in relationship with the Lord. Something like to want what the Lord wants for you or to be in His will all the time and keep you there no matter what. Or you can search the bible to learn what it takes to have agape love and righteousness. Ask for understanding. Ask Him to help you pray.
Those are suggestions, but be honest to God and pray whatever is on your heart or to just release what you want in life and in relationship with the Lord to see if it's in god's will. Ask Him to get you where He wants you. Ask yourself if you love God for the right reasons and search for the right answer.
"But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you." (Matthew 6:33)
"Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you." (Luke 17:21)
"For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost." (Romans 14:17)
Do you have righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Ghost? if not then ask God to help you.

Treat it like a relationship too, in that you tell Him what you're struggling with, you share your life with Him. Don't just make it about the works of praying and reading/listening to the Bible, spend time with Him out of a love for Him. Even if you don't feel like it, tell Him that and ask Him to help you overcome it. Put to death the deeds of the flesh and focus on Him instead.

Larry, you could ask the Lord to put a hunger in you for the Bible. Sometimes He does that, and people go through a period of time where they just devour the Scriptures. That would be a pretty fruitful use of your time.

Well I still listen to the bible everday. Try to do over 30 min. But don't look at it like fulfilling a checklist of what you need to do every day. I felt the Spirit on the replies to this thread. |

Or do you mean you read the bible. I mostly use the " you version" bible app. Edit: I have unlimited data on my phone so I just stream it a lot while driving or on trying to go to sleep. I've heard of youversion. I suppose there is always something to pray about. Paul says to 'pray without ceasing'. To me, praying can include a list of people's names and needs as well as our own, but a lot of my prayer time is just talking to Him. I talk to Him about so many things. I ask Him questions, I ask Him to guide me. I talk to Him about concerns that come up. I talk to Him about problems in the world. It's just a flow in and out and throughout the whole day. It's not a 'Dear God.....amen'

I don't speak in tongues either. Sometimes my prayers are without words, the Scriptures say 'groanings that CANNOT be uttered'.
