Has anyone received revelation on the consumption of alcohol? It makes the heart glad in Ecclesiastes, Jesus made it in the gospel, but Ephesians says be not drunk, and elsewhere : "be sober minded".
What do y'all think and why?

What do y'all think and why? People can drink, just not get drunk. Some people are different though and shouldn't consume alcohol. Like how some people can't handle caffeine. For me I choose not to drink at all. I haven't druken alcohol before because I don't want to worry about having self-control. Some people in my family have got really sick from drinking too much alcohol and died. Edit: I forgot to mention I have had food before that has alcohol in it. One was this dessert called Banana Foster and it has rum in it. I had a couple times before. But the last time I had it I got a bad headache from it. I don't know if it was from the alcohol. Edit 2: Interesitng verse " For I tell you I will not drink again from the fruit of the vine until the kingdom of God comes." " Luke 22:18

Has anyone received revelation on the consumption of alcohol? It makes the heart glad in Ecclesiastes, Jesus made it in the gospel, but Ephesians says be not drunk, and elsewhere : "be sober minded". What do y'all think and why? I am in the process of recovery from alcohol. I totally agree that some people can drink and have no problem. But some of us, like myself, cannot. I think churches should destigmatize the fact that many people struggle with alcohol and substance abuse disorders and should try to help them, rather than judge them. Because there are many people you might be surprised that have an alcohol problem. Most are not the fat drunk living under a bridge. These people are broken and need the love of Jesus. Sorry, I am getting on my soapbox. being in treatment has made me really sensitive to people. There are so many beautiful smart people that have these issues. It's not an excuse to keep sing or getting drunk but it is a reason to have compassion. Jesus turned water into wine for crying out loud. Of course the amount of alcohol in the wine was a lot lower than it is today but still. Alcohol itself is not the problem. It is when you use a substance (any substance) to run from your emotions or control things in your life that it becomes a problem (an idol) and God will definitely smash that idol.
