Hey guys, praise God. I was given the Holy Spirit by Jesus 1 year ago when he revealed himself to me, and an issue has risen up.
I do not have confidence that I am part of Gods beloved family because of several times I masturbated months ago, and I think that arises because I do not understand, theologically, the sacrificial death of Jesus as it relates to a born again Christian willfully sinning. How can Jesus forgive a sin as bad and disgusting as masturbating? It tears me up knowing that he had to witness that. Because I do not theologically understand that the father or son wants to forgive my past sins I do not have confidence in my repentance.
Because I do not theologically understand the cross as it relates to me (having willfully sinned after receiving the Ghost) I don't feel ready to read the old testament, though I want to.
Thank you

Thank you Look up Hebrews 9:14 and 1 John 1:9. Through what Jesus did on the cross our consciousness is able to be cleansed. So if the devil reminds you of past sins and you know you confessed those sins already to God, then you can remind yourself of Hebrews 9:14 that's helped me out a lot. Try reading the book of Hebrews it kind of gives a small sample of what happened in the Old Testament and how the New Covenant affects us. It's good thing you feel bad for your sin when it occured. That means your conscience is in still good shape or it was a Holy Spirit himself convicting you. Fasting and prayer helps break bondages of sin. Anything good/Jesus, God has given me through the power of him to overcome masturbation for over 1 year I give all to you in Jesus name.

Thanks. I will fast right away and keep you updated. I'm always a bit scared to read Hebrews because of 10:26, and 6:4, but I'm pretty sure neither apply to me. What are your thoughts on these two verses?

What are your thoughts on these two verses? With 6:4 you need to add the next verse to it. Most people haven't meet those requirements. Even so we shouldn't take sin lightly. Also even though most people haven't met these requirements. Some people are deceived and believe hyper-grace, basically you can do anything you want and God won't hold you responsible and that can lead people to stay in sin. Also people need to know about how Jesus said we need to forgive others so we can be forgiven by God and also not take the mark of the beast.

Thank you Honestly the bible is the first thing you should read if you are a christian. If you feel like your not ready that is a lie. Also i read your testimony about the white orb thing. Im not sure what that means it doesn't sound like something Jesus would do, but who knows. Also just because you masturbated doesn't mean your not part of His family however if you feel you are not part of His family it can be for other reasons.

Thank you "If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us, and cleanse us of all unrighteousness." All means all with God. However "If you will not forgive others, neither will your heavenly Father forgive you." "Little children, I am writing you that you may not sin, but if any man sins, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous." Please have confidence from this: "No one can come to Me unless the Father who sent Me draws him; and I will raise him up at the last day." But bear this in mind also, because I do not preach greasy grace or once saved, always saved... "The one who remains until the end, shall be saved." And "God is not mocked. Whatsoever a man sows, he shall reap." If you sow corruption, expect to reap corruption. If you sow repentance and good deeds, expect to reap good things also. God has made all things beautiful in their time, so rejoice in all things, even discipline, for the Father scourges every son He receives... rejoice in all things, for this is the will of God for you in Christ Jesus.
