Is there an easier way to resist sexual temptation? I had to try use all my spiritual weapon to beat back some sexual temptations when I wake up in the middle of the night. It’s spiritually exhausting. I been free about maybe a week or two. I’m 20 this isn’t easy. I been praying daily for a couple weeks for about an hour or so that what pretty much helps fill my cup. Sometimes I do some worship fellowship and bible reading/meditating at that time instead of only prayer.

Maybe try turning the intense emotion into another intense emotion like crying for the world, for your sin or Jesus on the cross, if there is any Bible verse that gives you intense emotion meditate on it.

If some temptation like that comes my way. Lately I tell God thank you for helping me stand in the gap in that area of sin for another person. If we stand in the gap for people that way some people won't have to go through it. (Ezekiel 22:30) Learned it from a video Doug made. Can't remember the name of the video.

But I’m not standing in the gap to my knowledge. I think it has more to do with fluid build up or it’s the flesh. I guess I have to just keep attacking the enemy with everything I got! Man spiritual warfare is energy draining.

When I got saved a little over a year ago, I got delivered of video games and masturbation on the spot (praise God!). I had no desire for either one basically at all anymore, I didn't even get sexually aroused. After a few months though satan came back with more and he attacked me in my dreams which I couldn't overcome in my strength. When it comes to sleep for me, I can barely fight anything off. I would have sexual dreams and it would cause me to ejaculate in my sleep, and that was definitely the outcome satan wanted. When it started happening, I was so confused, felt remorse, and had no idea what to do (I was still under the Law at the time and didn't know the freedom in Jesus) so I asked God why and I researched to see. I repented of it but I didn't know if it was my fault or not because it happened in my dreams. It would happen every week or few weeks and every time it would happen I would pray against it. Sometimes I could stop it before it happened, but most times I couldn't.
With time and prayer, a few months ago it stopped happening altogether (probably around the time I got more freedom in Jesus) and I've been free since about a couple months ago until I went to Hawaii and got a spirit of physical lust. I still didn't really get aroused, but my eyes would wander and thoughts would happen when they shouldn't. Anyway, I had been praying about it for God to help me whenever it happened. As usual when I pray against something a lot, He gives me an even greater desire to overcome it, and one day I decided I'm going to stop and not let it overcome me, in the power of Jesus' name and it happened! So just continue to fight against it. I'll be praying for you that I can help bear your burdens wherever the Lord allows, but it could also be a learning process that you need to go through. In any case, rejoice! Spiritual warfare is tough, but in overcoming, it will produce great fruit for you and for others that need help. You'll be more like Jesus and you'll get to show His love to others.
Lord I pray that you help Zirui, that you would open his spiritual eyes and ears to hear and see you. Help him overcome it Abba, don't let your son get pulled further from You, instead let this bring him closer to You in every way. We love You and we don't want to sin against You. Fill us with your spirit and help us to have freedom in Jesus. Thanks Lord, You love us so much and You always give us what's best for us. Help us to love You more every day. In Jesus' name, amen.
We got your back, but more importantly, Jesus has your back, He knows the struggles and wants to help us overcome them.

You have to keep resisting. The more you resist temptation the more that spiritual muscle builds up. The scripture says resist the devil and he will flee. With my experience since im 24 and struggled with the same thing in the past, i would get to a point where i didn't want to do it and the only reason why i would do it is to release build up in my flesh. I wouldn't think about anything while doing it. It got to a point to where the enemy would attack me in my sleep by sending succubus' every once in a while i guess knowing that i haven't done that act in a while. That was where the real resisting comes in because they are literally throwing themselves on you and trying to have sex and if you show the slightest amount of acceptance to it then they will attach to you. It's happened many times but i think i lost about a couple times because even though i was resisting my body couldn't handle it and im just like man this body is not at the same level as my spirit lol. Like it says the spirit is willing but the flesh is weak.
Continue to draw closer to God and focus on Him more. The more you are focused on Him the more you want to remain clean and holy. In my opinion, masturbation by itself and not thinking about anything while you do it is not sin however it is unclean which the bible says to avoid. Also take every thought captive and just hate the sexual immorality. Some want to come in my sleep and dreams and do sexual immoral acts to me but i hate sexual immorality and don't participate in it and it doesn't arouse me anymore. Could be God training you and building you up instead of just taking it from you straight away.

Yeah when I wake up sometime in the middle of the night I may feel erection and lust. I think I can see in the spirit in my mind. I then tried sense where the demons is and I attack with my spiritual weapons. Generally after I whack them a good while they are gone. But they may come back a couple hours later. Then I have to fight them again. The worst time is generally when I wake up in the middle of the night or early morning. Then the temptation hits.

Yeah i guess when you are being refined more you are more in tune with your spirit and not your flesh. The more God crucify's parts of you and gets out the parts of you that were corrupted by the world the more you will hate the lusts of the flesh because it doesn't satisfy you and it doesn't give you anything other than bad feelings afterward. Sometimes you can just look at a image of someone naked in your dreams at it would instantly arouse your body even if you don't think about it. But with time and God getting all the corruption and filters out and renewing your mind, it will eventually not arouse you anymore. The more you resist the easier it becomes to avoid the temptation when it does present itself at another time. Also a lot of fear of the Lord helps because you are more scared of hurting God than you are about getting attacked from the enemy and so it makes you hate the enemy for tempting you to sin and hurt God.

I think people have said some good things in this thread. But there is one point I wanted to say more about.
I agree with waris that masturbation is not necessarily a sin. Because as far as I know, there is no place in the bible that says it is wrong. With that being said, I think it is certainly possible for it to become sin in various ways. So there is definitely a danger. Therefore my intent isn't to encourage anyone to just go ahead and not worry about it. But I think it's important to recognize when the Bible doesn't actually describe something as being wrong.

I was just trying to say that eventually we can stop doing it but if it happens every once in a while because your body can't handle it then we shouldn't beat ourselves up over it or slip into condemnation. But if your purposely doing it and lusting over someone while doing it then i think it may become sin.

I’m sure everyone is different but fear of the Lord helps a lot. I’m still struggling with some lingering lust so I can’t tell you how i was fully delivered or anything. In terms of masturbation: the longer you deny yourself the more strength you’ll have to overcome it. Where it will just become an afterthought. It won’t even be a thought. As far as erections. I’ll have the enemy try to give me one along with minor sexual arousal when I’m praying sometimes which is insanely annoying. And just draining to pray against. All this to say don’t lose heart, you’re not some freak going at this garbage alone.

Leviticus 15:16-19 King James Version (KJV) 16 And if any man's seed of copulation go out from him, then he shall wash all his flesh in water, and be unclean until the even. 17 And every garment, and every skin, whereon is the seed of copulation, shall be washed with water, and be unclean until the even. 18 The woman also with whom man shall lie with seed of copulation, they shall both bathe themselves in water, and be unclean until the even. 19 And if a woman have an issue, and her issue in her flesh be blood, she shall be put apart seven days: and whosoever toucheth her shall be unclean until the even. King James Version (KJV) Not a sin but who wants to go around "unclean" all the time!
