King James Bible. (Luke 16:9 And I say unto you, Make to yourselves friends of the mammon of unrighteousness; that, when ye fail, they may receive you into everlasting habitations. ) What does this mean? Does this mean I should make friends with businesss savy people. Where did the everlasting habitation come from?

Does this mean I should make friends with businesss savy people. Where did the everlasting habitation come from? This verse is translated in different ways to where it makes the verse a different setence. Maybe refering to blessing our enemies?

But it says to make friends? What does Jesus mean? How could theses friends give us an everlasting habitation when we fail? Unless he means something else deeper.

Maybe it means you are a preacher and you are only supported by the lord and not a specific organization. But then one day you get injured and one of your unbelieving friends comes and take care of you.

Put the scripture in context. As well as who He is speaking to which is the covetous pharisees.
If you are going to live in the kingdom of mammon then make friends in that kingdom in case you fail. If you are not faithful in the unrighteous mammon then how can you receive true riches. You can't serve God and mammon or you will end up hating one and loving the other. That which is highly esteemed among men is an abomination in God's eyes.
So that being said the two kingdoms are opposing each other. You can't say you depend on God when you live your life for money, which is serving two masters and you love one of them and hate the other. So when you end up failing because you have not been faithful, God is not going to be there to provide for you so make friends that will receive you.
