In our human life we experience many different kind of love. Love for parents, love for spouse, love for children, love for friend and neighbors, and love for the people of God. The questions is what kind of love do we utilize for God is it a love for father parental love. Love for bridegroom spouse love? Or is the love that God wants for us to give him far greater than anything we know?

The love to where you will want to endure anything to be with Him. If you had to choose death by torture or deny Christ, which one would you choose. Christ said there is no greater love than sacrificing your life for others/ friends. I personally don’t think there are different types of love if you have unconditional love for everyone.

I think love is fixed. It's boundaries only change in the length we choose to walk in it. Definitively there are two kinds of love, the agape and phileo but these amount to nothing more than the difference between an arm's length love (phileo) and a bearhug (agape) in my view. The difference is relational. If you love a fellow baseball player the same way you love Momma it would be awkward to them, but that's what agape love from Daddy does, it disarms and causes others to stop and look and see what God put in their hearts alive and well in a lost and dying world. What's more beautiful?

This is my commandment, That ye love one another as I have loved you (John 15:12). Seems like all the same love to me, but how we show that love is different between people like I think nobody was saying. You can love your parents like you love your friends or your spouse (who is one with you), you would just interact with them differently. God chastens and rebukes those He loves as well.
