I would love GOD to be tangible sometimes. I'd love to see Him, feel His hug, literally take a walk with Him. But I'm also so thankful for the dialogue. But it seems in the confusion of this past week, it's been a lot harder to hear Him. (I've also been sick, still am). For me knowing that he is there without seeing or hearing or touching is pretty amazing. Jesus says blessed are those who believe and have not seen. Being present with you always and it grows genuine love in you without any biases/ preconceived notions (in my opinion). There's a difference of not seeing God the father or Jesus and communicating with them. If a lot of the people in the old testament communicated with God, how much more Christians should be doing that, since the Holy Spirit is inside them and they become children of God? Side question are the people in the old testament part of God's family too like Deborah or Gideon? Maybe 1 Peter 3:19-20 relates to this question?

Side question are the people in the old testament part of God's family too like Deborah or Gideon? Maybe 1 Peter 3:19-20 relates to this question? Well it was more about physical contact and physical sensing. Will a person follow God because they saw Him physically or saw a healing or he spoke through someone and told you something? perhaps. But a person can also follow God because they believe in goodness and love and righteousness without any tangible evidence or proof. There are a lot of people who communicate with God, it doesn't have to be with a voice or physical feeling. They all had connection to God in the old testament and we see in the new testament they lived by faith as well. The difference is that in the new testament they were not bound by fear of the law. And perhaps they didn't hear his voice as often as OT prophets. Depends how many christians want relationship and how they live out that relationship since people have different personalities. Also how many people during the time in the old testament didn't communicate with God? "And deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage". Hebrews 2:15 "For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost". 2 Peter 1:21 Jesus says those who do the will of the Father are His family. People in the old testament are part of God's family if God decides they are. I can't say who is part of God's family but i would guess those who do His will and love Him genuinely. Look up the word "love" in the old testament. "Know therefore that the LORD thy God, he is God, the faithful God, which keepeth covenant and mercy with them that love him and keep his commandments to a thousand generations;" Deuteronomy 7:9 "And now, Israel, what doth the LORD thy God require of thee, but to fear the LORD thy God, to walk in all his ways, and to love him, and to serve the LORD thy God with all thy heart and with all thy soul," Deuteronomy 10:12

1 Corinthians 2:4-5 and John 4:48 talk about how some people's faith began with miracles or wouldn't belive without miracles.(Repetence is still important Matthew 11:20) Doug talks about how a lot of the church is divided, don't belive God talks to people, and no more miracles, as a result we're not walking into our calling full potential or even at all.

It's perhaps one of the BIGGEST problems in churches today - the doubt that the LIVING GOD speaks today, moves on our behalf today. It is unbelievable to me that so many Christians do not believe that GOD can directly speak to people today. It's very frustrating. He's the LIVING GOD after all!! He's not a statue, He's not dead, He's not mute. No! He's the very GOD who led Israel out from slavery of Egypt with many signs and wonders. HE's the same GOD who spoke to the prophets of old. HE's the same GOD who spoke to tons of people in the BIble and in the early church as well. He's no less God now than He was then. This lack of faith that GOD still heals, raises the dead, does miracles, performs signs and wonders, and mighty jugdments - just WHY?? Since when did christian men have the authority or even the audacity to tell GOD what He can and cannot do, what HE is and is not able to do??

Some days the dialogue just isnt there. Like for the most part the last 3 days. I wish I knew more people who had this dialogue with GOD. I think maybe it might be a bit more common than we think, maybe people just don't call it "dialogue". It always concerns me though when I dont hear from GOD for a few days. Did I do something wrong? Did HE leave? Etc. Perhaps there is an indication about having a stronger relationship (not that it's not strong or not, im not sure), but the kind of relationship where your parent can just look at you and you know what they are saying without them speaking. To live on faith and make decisions based on the scripture (and love of God, not so much man's definition of love, knowing that in the last days they call good evil and evil good) to know his ways more intimately and to learn wisdom and understanding. Also may serve to not grow dependent on voices. Scripture talks about a conscience that we have and transforming by the renewing of our mind. Which is harder to do, make the right choice because you heard God tell you or make the right choice out of faith not really sure if that's what God wanted when it was (kind of like testing)? For example which is a better indicator of growth: not stealing because you heard a voice tell you not to steal or not stealing because you wanted to do the right thing? There is a parable in scripture involving something about the servant saying we are unprofitable servants since we did what we were told to do. But try looking up that parable and seeing how it speaks to you. To me it's an indication of humility and obedience and not to pride ourselves in doing the right thing which we should have done regardless. Though scripture says its God that works in us to do of his will and good pleasure. Philippians 2 12 Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling. 13 For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure. Are you referring to the parable of the servant coming in from a long day in the field and then serving the master before eating or something along those lines. ?

Yeah I think that’s the one, when Jesus says something like does he thank the servant for doing his job? I trow not.

But it’s the Father who gives the revelation of who Christ is. Like the discussion when Jesus asked the disciples who they thought he was. He speaks to us differently some hear a voice frequently or only when it’s needed. Some don’t hear at all and are on the right path, maybe some see signs or numbers. Who knows since God can speak to each of us differently.

Yeah in the Bible it says Jesus couldn’t do many miracles in the town because of unbelief. Also in spiritual warfare experiences there are a lot of decieving voices and disguises. Depending on a voice can be hindering and deceptive, but the more closer you get to Christ the more you learn how he can speak without a voice or feeling. More like a knowing but sometimes your understanding can get in the way. Scripture says trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding.

Oh man, Art talks about this ALL the time (recommended sermon). He says the greatest testing comes when we are bereft of God’s presence, to see if we will still praise Him, go to Him, and rely on Him. It is even in the times where we most need His presence that He won’t give it. Not because He is mad at us, but because He loves us and seeks to grow us. To not be reliant on our feelings or situation, but to know that God is in fact in control and that “all things happen for the good of those who love Him”. When Jesus was on the cross, in the moment where He needed the Father most, He cries out, “My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me?” Then (if you continue reading Psalm 22) He continues, “Why are You so far from helping Me, And from the words of My groaning? O My God, I cry in the daytime, but You do not hear; And in the night season, and am not silent. But You are holy, Enthroned in the praises of Israel.” “But I rejoiced in the Lord greatly, that now at last you have revived your concern for me; indeed, you were concerned before, but you lacked opportunity. Not that I speak from want, for I have learned to be content in whatever circumstances I am. I know how to get along with humble means, and I also know how to live in prosperity; in any and every circumstance I have learned the secret of being filled and going hungry, both of having abundance and suffering need. I can do all things through Him who strengthens me.” Philippians 4:10-13 I can’t speak on why exactly the dialogue doesn’t happen every day, but what I know is whether we’re hungry, dying, or more alive than ever, we must praise and rejoice in the Lord! Matthew is this the Katz sermon you meant to post concerning testing when Gods presence isn’t there? youtu.be/sVmNKA2pfzc Around the 40:00 mark

I intended to post the one I did because Art talks about when God shows up and when He doesn’t (and I had just recently listened to that one). I didn’t have a particular example. Like I said He talks about it a lot so it’s in a lot of his messages

Sometimes I think HE does that to show us that HE is GOD and we are not. WE dont get to tell God what to do or how to relate to us. HE is perfect towards His children, so if HE would decide to be silent for a while or not give us those lovey-gooshy feelings, then HE is still 100% GOD and still 100% worthy that we give Him *our* 100% no matter what.

HE calls the shots. And HE is worthy of my submission whether HE speaks to me everyday or never again.

December 7
I seem to have mostly lost the Dialogue. I have spent some of the time in my ponderings stamping my foot and throwing a whiny pity party about it. Which I'm sure won't help my cause any. But I don't think throwing a tantrum is going to get His attention in a good way. I really like to be affirmed when I do well. I want the pat on the back. The 'good job, atta girl' and I just want Him to hold me. But this is a quiet season, an almost silent season. And I have to just accept it for what it is, because HE's going to talk when HE wants to. I think I undersatnd. My whole life I've been really clingy personality, childlike in an unhealthy way. I thought having the perfect Father meant HE was going to be super attentive all the time. Now I know GOD sees all things, HE is always aware so in that sense yes HE's attentive. But I mean, it's like HE's observing me, seeing if I'll make right choices and still love and serve Him, whether I get what I want or not. Kinda like what 'Uncle Doug' said in the video about being in the mind of Christ - I serve Him because HE's worthy to be served, not because of any reward I can get. See, I still go on a reward system. I will do well IF I get affection/attention, but I will slack off and become offended if HE doesn't grant me what I expect from Him as a Father. I'm just being very raw and real. And I see my error for sure. And I have told Him that I am sorry. But it doesnt mean it's gonna change His mind. My profile picture is so adequate, because I really need humbling if I think I can control my relationship with a holy GOD.

Thanks for sharing openly, j. Yep. No problem. This isn't a fun season. I tell Him 'I dont like it'. It's stripping me away of my flesh, but in the meantime it seems it's raging even more because I'm not getting what I desperately want.
