I said they're most likely multiple meanings, but I don't know what they are right now. Give a hypothetical example of how it could be prophetic or apply specifically to a person's life in their current situation. Like how some people read a verse in the Bible and they feel applies directly to their life like God is talking to them. well what did you think it meant before you saw the end referring to Jesus? That the end of all things would come. Like how the last couple chapters of Revelation describe God judging the earth and everyone being judged and then eternal peace/safety after that.

Ok I can see how it could be a double meaning that the end of the world would come and that referring to Jesus coming back at around that time as well. “And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world? But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved. And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come. For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be. And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened. Then if any man shall say unto you, Lo, here is Christ, or there; believe it not. For as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken: And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.” Matthew 24:3, 13-14, 21-23, 27, 29-30

"But I say to you that whoever looks at a woman to lust for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart. " - Matthew 5:28 NKJV
I was thinking about this verse below and how God is only the one who can understand/know what's in our hearts. So does that mean we could have sin in our life that we don't know about, since humans don't know what's in their heart? Or can we have a slight hint based on the fruit in our life? Maybe there's is some type of sin in my heart that's making it hard to get closer to God? Like unbelief or pride perhaps?

How does "he who has no sin cast the first stone" relate to how in Old Testament they stoned people?

How does "he who has no sin cast the first stone" relate to how in Old Testament they stoned people? A few things come to mind, bro. First, the Jewish people had tried to codify all of Torah into 613 commandments. The 574th of which is "Transgressors must not testify." And they cite Exodus 23:1 as the basis for that commandment. "You shall not accept a false report; do not place your hand with a wicked person to be a false witness." Even if that verse doesn't quite say that, to the Rabbis, Sanhedrin and others it had been ruled that way. So when Jesus said "he who has no sin cast the first stone", He was saying, if any of you are transgressors, you can't be one of the two witnesses, that caught her "in the very act." Jesus says "then neither do I condemn you." Because if Jesus condemned her, before her life and full chance to repent and change were up, then He would have to condemn everyone, in the same way, because "there is no partiality with God."

I kind of understand what you're saying. But with the last part you said about the condemning people, does not not really apply? Because the Bible says a person lives once and then the judgement, so people won't be condemned until they died, plus what about the people in the Old Testament who were righteous like Abraham or Job? Also jesus said this: " ssss Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God's one and only Son " - Jihn 3:18 Plus Jesus didn't Jesus say " he didn't come to condemn the world but to save it" before this event occurred?

I kind of understand what you're saying. But with the last part you said about the condemning people, does not not really apply? What doesn't apply? That Jesus didn't condemn her, because no one else was found worthy, so because He desires mercy for all, He spared her, that she go and sin no more? What about them? How are they related? That's true. As they are, they have rejected the Truth, and are not in it, and not saved. I don't see how it's related. She didn't believe Jesus was the Messiah and God's Son and her savior yet, because He hadn't revealed that yet, but Jesus is talking about a spiritual reality of has a person accepted or rejected when God has spoken to them, (He speaks to everyone) and did they receive or reject what light they were given? Yes, definitely. Pray for wisdom and rightly dividing bro. None of what God said contradicts itself. They're all true statements, understood rightly. Jesus did not come to bring peace on the earth, but a sword. Jesus came that we might have life, and that more abundantly, yet He says take up your cross and follow me to be executed and die to self, and possibly die physically for me. He came that those who are blind may see, and those who see may become blind. He does many things which are confusing to the world, but He explains all things privately to His disciples. So give up all you have, (stuff, self and life) to Him, and pick up your cross and follow Him, and He will explain all things in their right time, and wisdom will be easy to you, as Proverbs says.

Seems there were people besides the disciples Jesus explained the parable meanings to.
" 10 When they were alone, the people around Jesus, along with the Twelve, asked him about the parables. 11 He said to them, “The secret of God’s kingdom has been given to you, but to those who are outside everything comes in parables. 12 This is so that they can look and see but have no insight, and they can hear but not understand. Otherwise, they might turn their lives around and be forgiven " - Mark 4:10-12 CEB

When Jesus mentions loving your neighbor as yourself. It seems he's using the word agape. So we're supposed to love our neighbors and ourselves with agape love. Human level love doesn't cut it. biblehub.com/text/mark/12-31.htm

With the story of Zacchaeus what do you think the meaning of Zacchaeus's name and how it relates to the story in the Bible? His name means pure.

Obviously this particular thread is very old but I cannot stand the Message interpretation. It is so confusing and parts of the meaning are completely changed such as the first few verses of Romans chapter 8 (which is one of my favorite chapters in the whole bible). Also did you know that the Watchtower translations says 'the word became a god.' in John 1:1? It is inredibly sneaky. Big difference. In general I'm not too picky with translations. I check a few key verses and as long as they mean the same thing I am ok (Romans 8, John 1:1, Psalm 91 ect). I like the KJV because I like old language (Im studying to be a history professor). But I am not KJV only and I also love the Good News version and ESV as well.

Why is it in this verse they were winning? Does raising are hands in the air influence prayer?
" As long as Moses held up his hands, the Israelites were winning, but whenever he lowered his hands, the Amalekites were winning. " - Exodus 17:11 NIV

" He tends his flock like a shepherd: He gathers the lambs in his arms and carries them close to his heart; he gently leads those that have young. " - Isaiah 40:11 NIV
Seems this verse is where the inspiration for Jesus holding a lamb pictures.

Was a generational curse on Solomon for what David did with Basheba? If so could it have been removed?

I was thinking about the verse that says walk by faith and not by sight. I was thinking about the word walk it doesn't say run it says walk, so you're going at a slow pace?
